Getting started
Inversus is a two-colour shooter: a ship walks only on the other colour, and every shot repaints the board. A bot is a small program that plays it: sixty times a second it reads the game and says which buttons to hold.
Four short pages take you from never having seen the game to a bot of your own on the leaderboard. Every animation is a real match, played by the bots whose code you read.
- 1The game

- 2Bots
What a bot is: a program that answers every tick.
- 3Your first bot
Five small steps, from standing still to hunting.
- 4Test and submit
From a file on your machine to the leaderboard.
What you need
- To write a bot: Python 3.11 or later (or a C++20 compiler), and the framework,
ibf. - To test it at home: Windows 10 or 11 and Inversus on your Steam account. Without the game, test it here instead.
- To submit it: an account here. A username and a password, or a passkey; nothing else.
